Dragon Ball FighterZ (Xbox One)

We have seen some awesome (and some not-so-awesome) Dragon Ball video games over the years. Dragon Ball FighterZ (Xbox One) is definitely a win for the franchise, with incredible hype surrounding the game. Early snapshots of the game got the fans excited, and rightly so in our opinion. Normally we are used to seeing full 3D Dragon Ball games but this time it is 2.5D and it looks glorious. The full 3D games of the past usually fail to capture the true essence of DBZ, the end product is usually a bit block-y. However, thanks to the 2.5D element for this game, it really captures what Dragon Ball is all about!

Released worldwide on the 26th of January 2018, instead of in Japan first and later around the world. It really shows the franchise is more open to their worldwide fan-base, and we love it. A brand new fighting system never quite seen before within the Dragon Ball franchise. Dragon Ball FighterZ (Xbox One) combines awesome visuals with great gameplay for an incredible gaming experience. We have never quite seen a game before that feels just like the anime (and manga). Not to mention the pretty fun online experience, although we must warn you, people are quite good at this game!

Dragon Ball FighterZ (Xbox One): Story & Gameplay

Developed by none other than Arc System Works, they did a superb job with this game. We have not had as much fun with a DBZ game of this ilk since the Budokai Tenkaichi series! It is usually one or the other when it comes to gameplay and graphics but Arc Systems seems to combine the best of both worlds. Published by Bandai Namco, the game contains both the Japanese and English dub, giving you the best of both worlds.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Android 18

We do not want to give too much away so we'll keep it relatively brief, that way you can jump straight into this game. The story in FighterZ revolves around Androids, with Android 16 making a return (Yay! by the way). And the brand new Android 21 who we have never seen before, designed by Akira Toriyama himself! A large number of Z Warrior clones impersonate the Z Warriors and start to take down the fighters. Your job is to get to the bottom of this mystery, linking up with the other DBZ Warriors along the way.

Have you ever played the Marvel vs Capcom series? If so, then will will look and feel familiar to you. This game borrows the same gameplay mechanics and controls, played at a fast pace it is super fun! Very reminiscent of the anime and manga that we are all accustomed to. It is easy to get started and jump straight into fights, but if you want to become a master you have to work on it. Combine combos, light and heavy attacks to blow your opponent away with style.
